Simply the richest and best day's racing of the Flat Season in Scotland! Attracting runners from the leading stables with the country’s leading jockeys and trainers converging on the Ayrshire coast.
William Hill Ayr Gold Cup Saturday Racing Highlights and Evening Entertainment.

With eight exciting races, fantastic entertainment and a true sense of occasion this is one of Scotland’s iconic sporting events.

Top of the bill is the £200,000 William Hill Ayr Gold Cup featuring 25 of the UK and Ireland’s leading sprinters hurtling down the home straight at Ayr in quest for glory.

In 2016 the race was won by Brando, trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by Tom Eaves,a horse that has since tasted Group 1 glory.

This is a fantastic race which fully justifies its position as one of the very top sprint handicaps of the season attracting runners from most of the leading stables.

Scotland’s only Group race, the William Hill Firth of Clyde Stakes also takes place on the afternoon as does the William Hill Ayr Silver Cup, the main consolation race for the Gold Cup.

There is entertainment throughout the day and into the night. Drums N Roses will play their Celtic rock sounds to the crowds arriving for the meeting while the Bourbon Street Jazz Men will be playing on the Champagne Lawns.

Stilt Walkers and a Uni cyclist will be out and about among the crowd while in the Tented Village within the Grandstand The Pretend Beatles will transport you back to the 1960s in their own inimitable fashion.

The party continues after the last race with top live band The Lyrical playing for three hours after racing in the Horseshoe Bar within the Club Stand while Colin McArdle will play a three hour DJ set in the Ayrshire Suite in the Grandstand.
