Festival Entertainment

Before during and after racing at the 2018 William Hill Ayr Gold Cup Festival there is some tremendous live entertainment.

Saturday's Lineup

THE PRETEND BEATLES will play before and during racing from 12.00pm till 5.30pm in the Tennent’s In The Tent Marquee within the Grandstand. Take a trip down memory lane and enjoy the sounds of one of the best-selling acts of all time. This band are widely regarded as one of the finest tribute acts in the UK and have played at Beatles festivals all over the world.


The Pretend Beatles will be playing in the Tented Village.

 
Following the final race on William Hill Gold Cup Saturday we welcome THE LYRICAL to the stage in the Horseshoe Bar within the Club Stand from approximately 5.05pm – 8.05pm. A top class function band they will play a set full of cover versions of some timeless classics.




COLIN MCARDLE is a DJ who is always a popular addition to the entertainment on major days at  Ayr Racecourse and he never disappoints playing a set full of songs guaranteed to fill the dancer floor. Colin plays for three hours after the last race in the Ayrshire Suite within the Grandstand.


Colin McArdle will again be performing a DJ Set.

 

 

 

DRUMS N ROSES will again be welcoming those entering via the main entrance at the front of the Racecourse from 10.30 am – 2.30 pm. A fusion of rock, pop and Scottish music this creates an amazing pre racing atmosphere.

THE ERSKINE STRING TRIO are playing in the Hospitality Suite from 11.40 am – 1.40 pm. Formed in 2008 this group of young professionals have played at many events across Scotland over the years and are all conservatoire graduates who also freelance with orchestras including the RSNO, BBC SSO, Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet.

THE BOURBON STREET JAZZ MEN will be playing throughout the afternoon from 12.30 pm – 5.30 pm in the Champagne Lawns and their traditional jazz sounds provide a hugely relaxing atmosphere.


The Jazz Men will be playing throughout the afternoon in the Champagne Lawns.

 


In addition the ever popular STILT WALKER will be wandering throughout the various areas and there will also be a UNICYLIST adding to the fun.

 

 

 

Friday's Lineup

KEVIN SIMM is sure to be a crowd pleaser when he takes to the stage after racing in the Ayrshire Suite within the Grandstand to perform a 40 minute set.

Kevin won The Voice in 2016 and before that he sang on no fewer than seven top 10 singles for the band Liberty X including the number one ‘Just A Little’. Now enjoying a successful solo career we delighted he will be wowing our William Hill Ayr Gold Cup Ladies Day crowds.

As soon as Kevin leaves the stage COLIN McARDLE will take to the decks and play a dj set until 8.00pm. Knowing Colin it’s sure to be a fun packed end to the evening.

After racing upstairs in the Horseshoe Bar within the Club Stand THE WHITE BAND will plug in and entertain with their special brand of rock and pop. There will be lots of huge hits to enjoy in the company of this exciting live act.

DRUMS N ROSES will be playing at the front entrance of the Racecourse from 11.40 am – 2.10 pm. With a pool of some of the best pipers and drummers in Scotland, Drums N’ Roses play their unique mix of rock and pop and traditional Scottish music featuring world class performers.

THE RHYTHM KINGS are Ayr Racecourse favourites and will play in the Champagne Lawns from 1.30 pm – 5.00 pm. Formed from the cream of Scottish Dixieland Jazz musicians their unique blend of jazz and Dixieland blues always goes down well with those who attend our major racedays. 


The Rhythm Kings will be playing throughout the afternoon in the Champagne Lawns.



In addition the ever popular STILT WALKER will be wandering throughout the various areas and there will also be a UNICYLIST adding to the fun.

Thursday's Lineup

The fabulous DAWN PATROL take to the stage in the Horseshoe Bar within the Club Stand after racing on William Hill Doonside Cup Day. Playing a three hour set featuring their interpretations of some classic hits this in demand live band will have the dance floor packed.



 



The Dawn Patrol will take the stage in the Horseshoe Bar in the Club Stand area.
