It’s not only top quality racing at the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup Festival, but fabulous off course entertainment too.

Saturday's Lineup

THE BEATLES REVOLUTION play before and during racing from 12.00 pm until 5.30 pm in the Tennent’s In The Tent Marquee within the Grandstand.  Widely regarded as one of the finest tribute acts in the UK they have played at Beatles festivals all over the world. This Fab Four attract a huge crowd when they play at the Racecourse.


The Beatles Revolution will be playing in the Tented Village.

 

THE WHITE BAND
Appearing in the Horseshoe Bar within the Club Stand from approximately 5.05 pm – 8.05 pm, will take to the stage after the last race. This high class function band are always popular and will fill the dance floor with their covers of classic hits from Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams, Van Morrison, Bastille and Queen.

 

 

COLIN MCARDLE, is a DJ who guarantees to pack the dance floor and will be playing in the Ayrshire Suite within the Grandstand from 5.45 pm until 8.30 pm. He plays a huge selection of hits peppered with his own zany sense of humour. A real racecourse favourite.


Colin McArdle will again be performing a DJ Set.



THE ERSKINE STRING TRIO 
are playing at Western House Hotel from 11.00 am – 2.00 pm. Formed in 2008 this group of young professionals have played at many events across Scotland over the years and are all conservatoire graduates who also freelance with orchestras including the RSNO, BBC SSO, Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet.

DRUMS N ROSES will again be welcoming those entering via the main entrance at the front of the Racecourse from 10.30 am – 2.30 pm. A fusion of rock, pop and Scottish music this creates an amazing pre racing atmosphere.

THE BOURBON STREET JAZZ MEN will be playing throughout the afternoon from 12.30 pm – 5.30 pm in the Champagne Lawns and their traditional jazz sounds provide a hugely relaxing atmosphere.


The Jazz Men will be playing throughout the afternoon in the Champagne Lawns.


MEREDITH MCCRINDLE 
is playing in the Hospitality Suite from 11.00 am – 1.00 pm. She  has played professionally since 1999 and has been teaching harpists of all ages since 2004. Meredith is one of the most talented harpists in the country.

In addition the ever popular STILT WALKER will be wandering throughout the various areas and there will also be a UNICYLIST adding to the fun.

 

 

 

Friday's Lineup

NICK GRIMSHAW is the star attraction and the Radio 1 Breakfast Show host and former X Factor judge will play a DJ set in the Ayrshire Suite in the Grandstand at approximately 5.10 pm.

One of the most popular radio and television presenters in the UK, Nick’s appearance at Ayr is sure to be a huge crowd puller.

He first joined Radio 1 in September 2007 presenting Switch with friend and fellow DJ Annie Mac and from October 2008 to May 2009 Nick hosted the station’s Weekend Breakfast Show.

Over the years he has also hosted the 10 pm till midnight slot before landing the coveted Breakfast Show gig in September 2012.

In addition to X Factor and The Album Chart Show his many television appearances include presenting roles on T4, the BBC Three panel show Sweat The Small Stuff, Channel 4’s That Music Show and a string of cameo roles in popular soaps including Eastenders and Coronation Street.

Nick will take to the stage shortly after the last race and play some well-known sounds for around 70 minutes. This iconic star of radio and television is sure to be a huge attraction.

As soon as Nick leaves the decks COLIN MCARDLE will take over and continue the party mood until around 8.00 pm. A long standing Racecourse favourite there’s never a dull moment with Colin !

REPLAY who play in the Horseshoe Bar from 5.40 pm – 8.40 pm within the club stand are an outstanding live band whose brand of rock and pop makes them one of the most sought after acts in Scotland.

They cover hit after hit but just don’t copy the original they adapt the music to their own style. A really top band.

 
The fabulous Replay will play in the Horseshoe Bar within the Club Stand.

DRUMS N ROSES will be playing at the front entrance of the Racecourse from 11.40 am – 2.10 pm. With a pool of some of the best pipers and drummers in Scotland, Drums N’ Roses play their unique mix of rock and pop and traditional Scottish music featuring world class performers.

THE RHYTHM KINGS are Ayr Racecourse favourites and will play in the Champagne Lawns from 1.30 pm – 5.00 pm. Formed from the cream of Scottish Dixieland Jazz musicians their unique blend of jazz and Dixieland blues always goes down well with those who attend  our major racedays.


The Jazz Men will be playing throughout the afternoon in the Champagne Lawns.



In addition the ever popular STILT WALKER will be wandering throughout the various areas and there will also be a UNICYLIST adding to the fun.

Thursday's Lineup

Opening Day of the Festival on Thursday September 21 features WATERFRONT. They are one of the best live bands on the Scottish scene and have been regulars at the Racecourse for several years now with their own interpretation of classic songs that is sure to have the crowd filling the dance floor.

They will take the stage in the Horseshoe Bar in the Club Stand area after the last race at approximately 5.05 pm and will play for three hours. A fine musical act who never fail to deliver.



 



Waterfront will take the stage in the Horseshoe Bar in the Club Stand area.
